Those... those... "people" - loosely termed, I might add. The Red Sux fans and players. How dare they win. How dare they show up in such numbers. How dare they make my mom and dad mad! I am sure if Vinny could tear himself away from his dinner, he'd sneeze on them. They are a big bunch of doodyheads, pardon my slang.
To make matters worse, I think there are going to be abandoned kitties again very soon. The big suitcase is out in front of the fireplace. When that comes out, generally very soon mom and dad are gone for a few days. Grandma Helen comes over to make sure we are fed, but she's not mom. I love mom. Mom loves me the best (have I mentioned that?)
Mom and dad are both at wits end with Helton, and rightfully so. He is such a bad, bad boy. If I had manners (if you can call them that) like him, I would be embarrassed to go in public. He won't stop jumping on the countertops and stove, and won't leave any liquids in glasses alone. Mom inevitably ends up sharing whatever she's drinking with him. She is getting her exercise throwing him off the counter, desk, whatever. He needs a stern lecture. Well, dad gives them to him quite frequently, but they don't seem to be helping. I don't know what he needs at this point.
Anyway, think positive thoughts for us. We hate to be without our mom and dad. Even if they DO bring us back treats.
Respectfully,

Abandoned kitties!
Mom and dad abandoned us this weekend. They left for work on Friday and didn't come back til Saturday night. They DID send Grandma Helen over to feed us on Saturday morning, but still... I miss snuggling with mom at night.
Apparently they went to Colorado Springs so mom could see the Gopher Hockey team play. They lost. That's what she gets for abandoning us. They also went to see 3:10 to Yuma. Mom is a big Russell Crowe fan. I'd have rather she waited til it was on DVD so I could watch it with her. I'm a big connoisseur of the contemporary Western film.
They came home late on Saturday and imagine our surprise when we woke up on Sunday and there was snow everywhere! I am a resourceful kitty and I was able to find the warmest place to seek shelter. Don't I look comfy? I was.

Mom complained that all her teams lost this weekend. I think she forgot about our Gators. They won. And then she was REALLY mad when Boston won and made it to the World Series. She really doesn't like them. Dad doesn't, either. Mom is trying to get tickets for the World Series. I hope she gets them because I really want to go. I've been keeping score at home with every game. I would like to meet Troy Tulowitzki and voice my displeasure with the Rockies using the Mark Ellis cheer when he is up to bat. That really gets my goat. Figuratively, I mean. I don't have a goat. They're big and smelly. Kind of like Vinny.
Mom's work gave her tickets to see the Nuggets play tomorrow. They are in the suites. I think that's great, because in the suites we won't have to worry about Vinny running off after food all over the Pepsi Center. Wait. He doesn't run. He waddles.
That's all for now. Until next time,
GO ROCKIES!

Holy Toledo, take 2!!!
So, this whole World Series thing is pretty crazy! Helton thinks he's the man because he's named after a Rockies player - but we'll let it slide because the Rockies are going to the World Series!!!! Mom and dad went on Sunday and Monday and saw them clinch. They had a great time! We all wish we could have been there. I enjoy a good baseball game, Helton would enjoy the water in the fountains, and Vinny could get his grub on.
Mom was a little sad because everyone hates Eric Byrnes. She knows he's a good guy, so all the booing was a little hard for her to take. But, after all these years with AJ, she's come to deal with the booing quite well.
Now mom and dad need to get World Series tickets. Perhaps I could assist by manning the computer at home while mom is at work. As evidenced by my blog I am quite adept at these things. Grandma Mary gave me $5 for my birthday. Maybe I can use that to buy the tickets for mom and dad.
Mom keeps talking about getting another cat and naming it Yorvit. Perhaps she doesn't realize how crowded the bed is with 2 humans in it. Helton, Vinny & I hardly have any room to spread out with them in our bed!

We are family...

I got all my brothers with me... Dad took this picture of us with mom the other night. Do you notice what's wrong with the picture? I'm not on mom's lap. I'm her favorite, and I'm stuck on the armrest of the sofa. Stupid lardass is on her lap and the cat they now call "Little Shit" is on there, too. It's ok. I know she still loves me the most. In fact, this morning, she woke up before 5am and had to use the bathroom. When she came back, I got up on top of her head and started purring loudly so she knew that I was there. She kept tossing and turning. I wonder why? Then when her alarm went off, she was lying on her tummy so I go on top of her back and laid down. So comfy! I don't know why she just didn't lie like that forever.
The Rockies keep on winning! It's very exciting. We all tuned in last night. Well, I spent a lot of time on the deck in my fortress. Jabba the Hut puked on mom's comforter on Wednesday night so she washed it and then draped it across the deck to dry. It made a fun hiding place. Mom and dad got tickets to watch them play on Sunday and Monday. It's a pretty exciting time to be a Rockies fan!
Helton has been more annoying than ever, lately. He won't leave mom alone. Whenever she has water or milk, he has to try to drink it out of her cup. She can't even take a drink without him being on her lap trying to get into it AS she drinks it. He's such a little punk. I'm much more sophisticated than that.
Yesterday mom bought us some new food. I'm no Rhodes Scholar, but the bag says "Light". Now, I'm quite svelte, and Helton is tiny - so what's this "light" thing? I think it was pretty good but I only got a few bites because fatass Vinny ate most of it. Ohh.....
Until next time,
GO ROCKIES!

On to the next round!
There was much rejoicing at our place last night. The Rockies swept the Phillies to advance to the NLCS and we were all really excited. I was still bummed over the Gators losing to LSU (booooo!) and Helton was coming off a high from Tennessee beating Georgia (Reminder: Vinny is a South Dakota State fan, he doesn't count) when the Rockies game started, but we stayed glued to the TV. Mom and dad watched it from their favorite spot downtown right across the street from the park. They were both really happy and mom said they got tickets for the 1st game of the NLCS here in Denver. I wish they'd take us with them, but none of us are big on crowds.
Mom did the Race for the Cure this morning with her friend Lisa. All I know is that she got up at 5:30 this morning but was nice enough to feed us before she left. I took a nap with her this afternoon
Helton's been a bad kitty today. He keeps getting on the counters, the table, and annoying mom when she's at the computer. Dad sprays him with water but he doesn't seem to mind. They bought us some wet food today. We love that, so I don't know why he's being so bad when they treat us so well. Oh well, who understands Helton anyway?

Free at last! Free at last!
The things are gone! Their mom came by to see my mom last night and took them back!! Oh happy day! We have our mom and dad all to ourselves again!
Unfortunately, they took my kitty condo with them. Now I have no place to go and be by myself and snuggle up in a warm blankie. Mom was nice enough this morning to put that big blue cooler that Uncle Craig brought over under the window so I could jump up on that in order to see out the window.
In other exciting news, the Rockies keep on winning! Helton is so excited. We watched the games while mom and dad were at work. You might think we're just dumb cats, but it's not THAT hard to figure out how to work the TV. We watch dad sit on the sofa every night and do it, so obviously it's not hard work. Josh Fogg, a fellow Gator, got the win yesterday. I was proud of him for that!

Holy Toledo!

I didn't live with my mom then, but she said that the best baseball announcer ever used to say that when he got really excited. RIP, Bill King. But anyway, Holy Toledo! Can you believe the Rockies? Mom and dad went to the game last night. They went Sunday, too. Dad is really super excited because he has been a Rockies fan since they became a team. Mom likes them too, but not as much as the A's. They said it was SOOOOO exciting. We were watching at home, but then Vinny went to lie down in front of the TV and we couldn't see around his fat butt. Finally Helton baited him with some kitty treats and food always wins out for him.
So, Helton the cat was excited. He loved that Todd Helton hit a homerun. He was struttin' his stuff on the sofa. We were pretty excited about that.
Mom and dad got playoff tickets for game 4. They hope the Rockies sweep in 3 games, but they're still excited to go if they have to.
In other really exciting news, in about 48 hours the things will be gone. We'll have our house back! Oh wait... I bet they'll take my kitty condo with them. Dammit.
